Nagaoka University of Technology in Japan welcomes a fair amount of foreign students from all over the world, but especially encourages those who from developing countries. These ongoing assignments require a unique design challenge—it must appeal to both Japanese- and English-speaking audiences. Since I'm fluent in Japanese, these have been perfect projects. To the Japanese-speaking audiences, I'm able to provide a fresh, uncluttered look-and-feel (the average Japanese graphic design tends to be very busy), and to the English-speaking audiences, I'm able to give familiar sophisticated designs.

Nagaoka Summer School for Young Engineers (NASSYE) is a summer short program at Nagaoka University of Technology, targeting international students who seek opportunities to study and work in Japan. I created a poster which is not only visually attractive, but also gives an instant cue where they are located.

This look has been received so well among the University administrators and faculties that it has become the face of the program.

I chose the honeycomb shapes to fulfill the requirement, and also to convey their various fields and collaborations between the universities.
