Pulling Threads Branding

Blakely, a very accomplished entrepreneur, wanted to build a community of like-minded people, starting with her own stories of “musings of a mid-life, imperfect perfectionist unraveling life’s threads.” I came up with three very different approaches, but the last option, Option 3, was chosen for its “imperfection” and “authentically vulnerable” feels.

Option 1

This was a stylish and trendy logo that would be really cool for merchandises in the future. To balance out the neatness of the logo, I set the supporting imagery to be more candid and imperfect, out-of-focus and faded for nostalgic look and feel. Colors are inspired by beach sunset.

Option 2

I gave this option playful combinations of vibrant colors and graphic imagery to echo Blakely’s passionate personality and colorful interests in life.

Option 3

This option was my spin on what Blakely wanted to express in the community she was going to build, where she could open up to be vulnerable, to be candid and unravel “life's threads, weaving everyday nonsense.” It wasn’t exactly what she initially asked for in the brief, but I wanted to present it to her as a possibility, and I’m glad she resonated with this direction.

Final logos and colors

I simplified the “tangled ball of yarn,” and gave a lot of colors as requested. I love how the whole branding turned out, and I’ve got another happy client! 🥰
